Tails on or off?

Fully shedding Wiltipolls use their tail in the same way as cattle do ....... to swish away flying insects. 
The tail should shed along with the rest of the body and the under side of the tail should be smooth skin like a cow's tail
(see photos below)

















During our trial with keeping tails on,
there has been no problem with breeding
no problem with lambing,
no problem with fly strike
and so far no problem with injury

but without a tail, sheep can get cancers from sun exposure.

We have decided not to waste our time resources and financial recources on a completely unnecessary process and encourage you to trial it also (with your clean shedding Wiltipolls)
